With other construction companies, projects typically end with an overwhelming amount of incomplete and sub-par work items. These deficiencies make their way onto a punch list, wasting valuable time and incurring costly delays. We recognized the need to alleviate those deficiencies and implemented an industry-first program that offers incentives to superintendents for turning over a perfect project; with the goal of eliminating the need for a punch list.
When Zero-Punch was first instituted it received waves of opposition – turning over a project without any defects was seemingly impossible. We prevailed and utilized the program to encourage employees to exhibit teamwork, clients to engage in collaboration and the construction staff to take pride in their deliverables.
Today, 70% of all projects are completed with zero items remaining on the punch list—a tremendous success given the industry standard remains at 0%. To date we are the only contractor in the industry able to successfully implement such a goal.
