World-renowned landscape architecture firm SWA Group partnered with Casco to transform their
office in Downtown LA’s historic Fine Arts Building. Occupying an entire floor of this century-old building, the project required extensive coordination and creative problem-solving from the outset.

Given the age and historical significance of the building, integrating new structural elements required multiple rounds of structural engineering while the building’s original elevators demanded creative logistical solutions for delivering large materials to the 8th floor.

The finished space is a gallery-like workspace featuring custom lighting, acoustic ceiling baffles imported from Canada, and refined millwork benches with integrated storage. At the heart of the office, a reimagined kitchen anchors the communal experience, complete with a state-of-the-art filtered
water system. Flexible by design, the conference room features custom NanaWall bi-folding doors that open the space for firm-wide gatherings and events. The final results are proof that with the right
team, a century-old landmark can feel brand new.
